We would like to kindly inform you that on April 22, 2024. Jagiellonian University has signed contract No. 80.272.82.2024 to support Microsoft MPSA. Under this agreement, UJ units will be able to purchase Microsoft software licenses. The contract is valid until April 22, 2027.

Software purchased under the MPSA contract may only be installed and used on computers owned by the Jagiellonian University. This agreement does not allow the use of the aforementioned software on home computers.

Please be advised that the installation of MS Office 2019 or later is possible only on computers with Microsoft Windows 10 or 11 installed.
If an older version of MS Windows (e.g. 7 or 8.1) is installed on the computer, it will be necessary to install MS Office 2016 as part of the so-called downgrade allowed by the MPSA license.

If an installation media other than MS Office 2021 is to be provided with the order, please annotate such a request on the order form. In the absence of the above annotation on the order, the MS Office installer will be recorded on the supplied media.

End of support for Microsoft Windows 8.1

On January 10, 2023, Microsoft ended technical support for Windows 8.1. This means that technical support and software updates for this version of Windows are no longer provided. Failure to provide security updates will result in an increased risk of loss or theft of data available on computers running Windows 8.1. As a result, it is recommended that you upgrade to Windows 10 or Windows 11. Such upgrades, exclusively for computers owned by the Jagiellonian University, are available for purchase under the MPSA in accordance with the procedure outlined below in the "How to obtain licenses ..." section. The price of one license per computer is 54.12 euro net + VAT. If your device does not meet the technical requirements necessary to run a newer version of Windows, it is recommended that you replace your computer with a compatible Windows 11.

End of support for Microsoft Windows 7

On January 14, 2020. Microsoft has discontinued support services for Windows 7. This means that security updates for Windows 7 are no longer provided after this date. Failure to provide security updates will result in an increasing risk of loss or theft of data available on computers running Windows 7.

It is therefore recommended that you upgrade your operating system to Windows 10.

Windows 10 Professional upgrade licenses are available under the current Microsoft MPSA. The price of one license per computer is €54.12 net + VAT.

To obtain a Windows 10 Professional upgrade license, place an order according to the instructions below under "How to obtain licenses ...".
