Microsoft 365 Apps package for UJ employees, postdocs and students

Jagiellonian University has purchased a license that allows every employee, doctoral student and student to use the software available as part of the Microsoft 365 Apps package.

The suite includes: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access and Teams in a local version i.e. installed on a computer or mobile device.

The purchased license allows one user to install the package on 5 computers, 5 tablets and 5 phones, business and personal.

Attention:

Employees employed on the basis of an employment contract, doctoral students and students of the Jagiellonian University with an active email account in the domain @uj.edu.pl, @doctoral.uj.edu.pl or @student.uj.edu.pl are entitled to use the package.

Technical requirements

Employees, doctoral students and students of the Jagiellonian University with an active email account in the domain @uj.edu.pl, @doctoral.uj.edu.pl or @student.uj.edu.pl are authorized to use the package.

PC:

  • CPU: 1 GHz or faster x86 or x64 processor with SSE2 technology,
  • operating system: Windows 7 with Service Pack 1, Windows 8.1, Windows 10, , Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows Server 2012,
  • memory: 1 GB RAM (32-bit version), 2 GB RAM (64-bit version),
  • hard disk space: 3 GB of available disk space,
  • screen: resolution 1024 x 768.

Computers with macOS:

  • processor: Intel processor,
  • operating system: macOS,
  • memory: 4 GB of RAM,
  • hard drive space: 6 GB, HFS+ hard drive format,
  • screen: resolution: 1280x800,

Android devices

  • processor: processor based on ARM or Intel x86 technology,
  • operating system: Android KitKat 4.4.X or later,
  • memory:1 GB,
  • hard disk space: not applicable,
  • screen: not applicable.

IOS-based devices

  • processor: not applicable,
  • operating system: iOS 10.0 or later,
  • memory: not applicable,
  • hard drive space: not applicable,
  • screen: not applicable.

How to use ...

To install Microsoft 365 Apps, you need to:

  1. open https://login.microsoftonline.com in your web browser,
  2. log in to the above website with your email address in the domain @uj.edu.pl, @doctoral.uj.edu.pl oraz @student.uj.edu.pl,
  3. click the Install Office button at the top right of the browser window,
  4. select the language and package type (32-bit or 64-bit) from the drop-down lists,
  5. download and run the installation file.

The installation runs automatically and requires an Internet connection at all times.

Note: Micorosoft 365 Apps for macOS can be downloaded from the Apple App Store.

Once installed, it is necessary to activate the package. This should be done using an email account in the domain @uj.edu.pl, @doctoral@uj.edu.pl oraz @student.uj.edu.pl and the UJ mail password.
