Jagiellonian University holds an ArcGIS site-type educational license for geographic information systems (GIS) software produced by Esri, an American company.

The educational license allows the software to be used for teaching, research and administrative purposes. The current license is valid until May 31, 2024.

The following products are available:

  • ArcGIS Desktop 10.8* (ArcMap) software, Advanced level in versions:
    • network license (Concurrent Use), for installation on university computers,
    • single license (Single Use), intended for installation on university computers and on personal computers of employees, doctoral students and UJ students,
  • ArcGIS Pro 3.1** software, Advanced level, in versions:
    • network license (Concurrent Use), intended for installation on university computers,
    • single license (Named User), intended for installation on university computers and on personal computers of UJ employees, doctoral students and students. This type of license requires a user account connection with the institution (the university's ArcGIS Online portal),
  • ArcGIS Online cloud services - creating and sharing maps and applications, with access from a desktop, browser, tablet or smartphone,
  • ArcGIS Enterprise 10.8 software - designed for installation on university servers,
  • ArcGIS CityEngine 2022*** software - designed for 3D design and modeling,
  • a number of additional Web and Mobile Apps (Web and Mobile Apps).

license runs from 10.1 - 10.8 versions
**  license works with versions from 1.4 - 2.8
***  the license runs in versions from 2012 - 2022

The use of the software for commercial purposes is prohibited..

In addition, as part of the purchased license, all UJ employees, doctoral students and students have the opportunity to use e-learning courses available at Esri Academy (https://www.esri.com/training/) free of charge.
